Ladan Tahvildari, PEng


Education: BSc (Hons), Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST, Iran); MSc, PhD, University of Waterloo (UW, Canada)

Dr. Ladan Tahvildari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She is a Visiting Scientist with Centre for Advanced Studies at the IBM Toronto Laboratory. She is a member of CSER, a Canadian Consortium for Software Engineering Research. Her research interests include software engineering, software evolution, program understanding, software reverse engineering, quality based software re-engineering, and software architecture. Together with her research team, she investigates methods, models, architectures, and techniques to develop self-adaptive software systems with a higher quality in a cost-effective manner.

Dr. Tahvildari has been on the program and organization committees of many international IEEE/ACM conferences. She is Publications Chair of ICSE 2009, the 31st IEEE International Conference on Softwate Engineering in Vancouver, Canada.  She was the Program Co-Chair of ICSM 2007, the 23rd IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance in Paris, France, the Working Sessions and Tools Chair of ICPC 2006, the 14th IEEE International Conference on Program Comprehension in Athens, Greece, the Program Co-Chair of STEP 2004, IEEE Conference on Software Technology and Engineering Practice in Chicago, Illinois, USA, the Workshop Chair of WCRE 2004, the 11th IEEE Working Conference on Reverse Engineering in Delft, the Netherlands, and the Publicity Chair of WCRE 2003, the 10th IEEE Working Conference on Reverse Engineering in Victoria, Canada. She has served as Chair of the Computer Society (CS) in the IEEE K-W Local Chapter since 2004.
